Barbara Ruby

Barbara Ruby, 88, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on February 4, 2026 at the Complete Care at Harston Hall in Flourtown, PA. Born in Ligonier, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and the late Mary J. (Kundrat) Ruby.

Barbara was a graduate of the Indiana University of PA. After college she served in the U.S. Army. She was employed most of her life as a Caseworker for the PA Department of Welfare.

Barbara enjoyed reading, gardening, and listening to music. She was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM RCC in Union Twp.

Surviving Barbara is her son: Mark E. Hill, husband of Carolyn; 3 sisters: Marjorie Hansen, Madeline Kopta, and Deborah Watson-Simcock; and grandson: Eric Hill, husband of Britny Pensyl.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 ay 11:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Mission Church, 251 S. Franklin St. Cochranton, PA 16314. Burial will be in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery near Meadville, PA.
