Carole Ann (Slysz) Cossa

Carole Ann (Slysz) Cossa, of Douglassville, PA, passed into God’s hands on December 19, 2025. Carole was born on September 15,1943 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Ann (Slowik) Slysz. She was the widow of Colonel Anthony “Tony” Joseph Cossa, Jr. (USAF, Ret). Carole graduated from Hahnemann Medical College, School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA. She was a Registered Nurse and an Emergency Room Supervisor at various hospitals across the U.S., specifically in San Antonio, TX and in Rome, NY. After moving back to PA she became a nurse trainer for Aetna. Nursing was her life's passion.

Carole called herself the "queen of unfinished projects" and loved the friendships she found through various rug hooking clubs and quilting associations. She was an animal lover who always had extra dog biscuits and food in the car for the neighborhood animals including the local wildlife. Carole laughed and loved her way through life. She was known to have a spectacular sense of humor and a genuine and warm personality.

Carole was patriotic, loved being a military wife, and was a proud supporter of our military and their families. Most of all, Carole loved her family and friends. She cherished her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church, Douglassville, PA.

Carole is survived by her daughter: Denise A. Liscum (Kenneth) of Lewisburg PA; son: Kevin E. Cossa of Douglassville PA; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer D. Cossa of Knoxville TN; four grandchildren, Alexander Liscum (Angela), Nathaniel Liscum (Skylar), Benjamin Liscum, and Caitlin Cossa.

She was predeceased by her son: Capt. Michael A. Cossa (USAF, Ret); and brother: Ronald E. Slysz. Interment was in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Bucks County, PA.
