Carole L. (Ludwig) Gentile, 83, of Shillington, PA passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 in the comfort of her home. Born in Birdsboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harvey A. and the late Virginia I. (Rohrbach) Ludwig.

Carole was a Registered Nurse at the Reading Hospital for 40 years. Her favorite place in the world was Cape May, surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loves included Jeopardy, her granddogs, sitting on the porch, and Mar. She was the last of her family’s generation and was certainly greeted by loving parents and siblings at the Gates of Heaven, as well as a granddaughter and nieces who left us too soon. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Birdsboro.

Carole is survived by her 2 sons: Michael A. Gentile, husband of Nikole and Matthew P. Gentile, husband of Rosa; daughter: Christine M. Gentile; 5 grandchildren: Kayla Care, Vito, Luke, Gabrielle, and Adam Gentile; and 2 great grandchildren: Emma Rae and Max.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter: Marissa Lawlor; 3 brothers: Clinton, Harvey, and Ray Ludwig; and sister: Fay Berkley.

In lieu of a formal service, the family will host a Celebration of Life at the Exeter Family Restaurant on Monday, July 6, where friends can stop by between the hours of 3pm and 6pm to share a memory.
