Charles "Les" L. Wright

Charles (Les) L. Wright, formerly of Maple Glen, PA, and Mt. Holly, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, on his 90th birthday at the Reading Hospital. Born in Summerdale, PA, he was the son of late Leslie E. and the late Bertha E. (Lippincott) Wright. He was the loving husband of 48 years to Virginia M. (Duffy) Wright.

Les worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad (Penn Central & Conrail) for 40 years, starting as a data entry clerk and retired as a Transportation Center Manager. He loved listening to country music, traveling, and throwing darts & horseshoes. Les had a passion for genealogy and forensic history, eventually publishing 23 genealogy books for friends and family. He and his wife, Ginny, loved their large, noisy family, and were known for hosting reunions and holiday parties for upwards of 60 people.

In addition to his wife Virginia, Les is survived by his son, Charles L. Wright, Jr. (Patricia Hanstein); daughter, Joanne Wright (Anthony Hoffman, Sr.); step-sons: John Mahnken and Stephen Mahnken (Karen Adkins); step-daughters, Elise Duffy (Randall Schaffer) and Debra Mahnken (Robert Renninger); 5 grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and 25 step-great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister Sarah.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
