Charles W. Merkle, Jr.

Charles W. Merkle, Jr., 59, of Boyertown, PA, passed away on January 2, 2026 at University of PENN Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of Charles W. Merkle, Sr., companion of Patricia Roland and the late Linda (Barbee) Merkle.

Charles graduated from Lowers Merion High School in 1984. He worked in Sales for Perfex Corp. He was an avid Philly Sports Fan: Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles. He was also an Oakland Athletics fan, (it did not matter what city they moved to). He loved his cat Oscar.

In addition to his father, Charles is survived by his son: Zachary Merkle; 2 daughters: Julie and Emily Merkle; and sister: Dana Merkle Matheson, wife of Steven Sedlacek.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berks Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd Birdsboro, PA 19508.
