Charles W. Riegel, Sr.

Charles W. Riegel, Sr., 90, Amity Township, PA, passed away on January 12, 2026 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Amity Township he was the son of the late William A. and the late Katie M. (Fick) Riegel. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ann (Miller) Riegel.

Charles was a graduate of Amity High School, Class of 1953 in Athol, PA. He was self-employed driving a dump truck most of his life, hauling coal and general materials. He was a member of the Monarch Fire Co., Oley Fire Co., Pike Twp. Sportsmen’s Assoc., and the Antique Truck Club of America.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by 2 sons: Charles W. Riegel, Jr. of Exeter Twp., PA and Todd W. Riegel, husband of April of Amity Twp., PA; 3 grandchildren: William, Kevin, and Kristina; and 4 great grandchildren: Melody Grace, Nora Hope, Jonah William, Isaiah Bryan, and soon to be born: Avery Helen.

He was predeceased by his brother: Ronald Riegel.

A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be from 10:00AM-12:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Amityville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd Birdsboro, PA 19508.
