Cpl. Christopher J. High

Cpl. Christopher J. High, 55, of Exeter Township, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Warren A. High, Jr. and the late Lois M. (Brennan) High. He was the husband of Tara A. (Schwager) High.

Chris graduated from Daniel Boone High School, Class of 1988. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force and served with the Berks County Emergency Response Team. Chris became a Police Officer starting with Caernarvon Twp. and Douglass Twp. Police Depts. In September 2003, Chris was sworn into the Amity Twp. Police Department, where he served for 23yrs.

He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge 71, American Legion in DE, Birdsboro VFW Post 411, DeMolay, with the Union Lodge #479 F&AM, and was a member of GT Church.

Chris enjoyed tending to his Bonzai trees, plants, and koi ponds. He was also a collector of many things, he loved displaying his homemade Halloween decorations. In his free time he enjoyed drawing, fishing and visiting Lewes, DE.

In addition to his wife, Tara, Chris is survived by his young children: Michael S. Shaw, Ishmael L. High, Bentley T. High, Nadia M. High and Lillian A. High; 2 sisters: Donna M. (Mohr) Klein, Leslie A. Mohr, wife of Joseph Morrison; his in-laws: Charles A. Schwager, Jr. and Isabel M. Schwager; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his brother: Jason Anthony High.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 2:00PM at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be from 10:30AM-1:30PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.
