Francis R. Hopta

Francis R. Hopta, 77, of Birdsboro, Union Twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Peter Hopta, Sr. and the late Leona (Curtiss) Hopta. He was the loving husband of 58 years to Harriett (Laird) Hopta.

Francis served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life as a Driver for DHL and other companies. He was also self-employed as a Welder.

He was a member of the Birdsboro VFW Post 411, American Legion Post 626 and Gobbler’s Knob Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed woodworking and welding.

In addition to his wife, Francis is survived by son: Neil Hopta husband of Kathleen of Exeter Twp, PA; daughter: Amanda Hopta wife of Erin Kempt of DePere, WI; 2 sisters: Mary McMichael of Mullica Hill, NJ & Kathleen Lingo of Gibbsboro, NJ; 1 grandchild: Jack Hopta husband of Alyssa, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother: Peter Hopta, Jr.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
