Joan L. (Schulmeister) Weaver

Joan L. (Schulmeister) Weaver, 87, of Douglassville, PA passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Keystone Villa at Douglassville. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. Schulmeister, Sr. and the late Susan S. (Homsher) Schulmeister. She was the widow of Donald R. Weaver who died in March.

Joan graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1956. She worked for SEARS in the Credit Dept. and as a Bank Teller for many years with the Bank of Pennsylvania in Birdsboro. She also was a Wrestling Cheerleading Coach at Daniel Boone High School.

Joan was a member of the Women’s Club of Birdsboro and was in a women’s bowling league at the Birdsboro Community Memorial Center. She was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C Birdsboro, where she was involved with Helping Hands.

After retirement, she and Donald joined a local Airstream Camper Club. They camped together all over the country and into Canada.

Joan is survived by her son: Douglas R. Weaver, husband of Cyndi; granddaughter: Lauren Cohen, wife of Michael; step-grandchildren: Matthew, Stephen, Julie, and Christopher Noski; and step-great grandchildren: Kiara, Annalise, Raymond, Iliana, Evelyn, Silas, and Lillian.

She was predeceased by her brother: Robert F. Schulmeister, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.
