Marjorie J. (Wieland) Lightbody

Marjorie J. (Wieland) Lightbody, 89, of Exeter Twp. PA, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Berkshire Commons. Born in Philadelphia, PA., she was the daughter of the late Edward T. and the late Jennie P. (Barrett) Wieland. She was the widow of John D. Lightbody.

Marjorie spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her family. She later worked in the Philadelphia School System as a noon time aide, helping students and assisting teachers. Marjorie was very involved in her church, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burholme, Northeast Philadelphia, for over 30 years playing piano, teaching Sunday and Bible School, choir, and a member of the Mournful Noise Singing Group. In later years she played the organ for the Philadelphia Protestant Home plus the Daniel Boone Baptist Church in Exeter Twp., PA. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Birdsboro, PA., as well as Past Matron of the Order of the Amaranth.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter: Sandra J. Maicher, wife of Albert; cousins: Jean Dickson, Eileen Freed; nieces: Nancy McPeak, wife of Michael, Linda Bianchini, partner of Michael, Patricia Garrett, wife of Richard, Barbara J. Lightbody, Carol Haines, widow of David; and Melissa Merk, wife of Lars.

She was predeceased by her grandson: John A. Maicher.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
