Mary L. Myers

Mary Louise (Barth) Myers, 77, of Birdsboro, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Keystone Villa at Douglassville. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig D. and the late Elizabeth (Bradley) Barth. She was the loving wife of Robert M. Myers.

Known to her friends as Mary Lou, or ML, she attended Daniel Boone High School, graduating third in the Class of 1965. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s equivalency degrees in education from Kutztown University. She taught French and Spanish at Upper Perkiomen High School from 1969 to 1977. 

She loved and was deeply committed to the Birdsboro community. She worked as Program Director for the Birdsboro Community Memorial Center for many years. Additionally, she volunteered on numerous boards and held leadership positions in local organizations including: the Birdsboro Christian Preschool, Birdsboro Jaycettes, Birdsboro Women’s Club, the 250th Birdsboro Anniversary Committee, the Birdsboro Historical Society, the Birdsboro Community Library, and the Daniel Boone Music Boosters.

Mary Lou was devoted to her family and her close circle of friends. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed quilting, creating beautiful cards, and vacationing with her family in Wellfleet, MA. Throughout her life, she was a caregiver, starting in high school by assisting in the care of her grandmother. Following her teaching career she babysat many neighborhood children. Mary Lou also provided care for her mother and aunt later in their lives. Most recently, she took great pleasure in babysitting her only granddaughter. She was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church and attended regularly. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Jared, husband of Bre (Tobias) of Birdsboro; and her granddaughter, Amelia Elizabeth. 

A viewing will be held at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508 on Tuesday evening, February 4, 2025 from 6:30PM-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church, 905 Chestnut St. Douglassville, PA 19518 on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10:00AM. A brief viewing will be from 9:30AM-10:00AM at the church, prior to mass. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church Cemetery.
