Nancy L. (Webers) Rowe

Nancy L. Rowe (Webers), 73, of Pocono Lake, PA, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on February 14, 2025. She was the loving wife of Martin D. Rowe, Sr., also of Pocono Lake. Born in Kearny, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Herman A. Webers and late Kathryn M. Webers. She is survived by her son Martin Rowe, Jr. (Deanna) of Colmar, PA, daughter Michele Martin (Eric) of Douglassville, PA, sister Diane Osterlof (Edward) of Oakland, NJ, brother-in-law Ronald Rowe, Sr. (Norma) of New Jersey, sister-in-law Maria Rowe of Oregon, sister-in-law Heidi Webers of New Jersey, and brother-in-law John Palmer of New Jersey, as well as her grandchildren: Eric, Fiona, Emily, Avery, and Macy. In addition, Nancy had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and life-long friends that will miss her. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Webers, Douglas Webers, and Madeline Palmer, as well as brother-in-law Robert Rowe.

Nancy was a 1969 graduate of Kearny High School. She and Marty married and settled in Kearny in 1972, later retiring to Pocono Lake. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Kearny Board of Education as a special education aide. She previously worked for Bell Telephone, as well as held the most important job of all, being a mom to Marty Jr. and Michele.

In her free time, Nancy engaged in many hobbies and interests including bowling, cooking, baking her famous Christmas cookies, and traveling; taking trips in recent years to Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, among others. A fan of all kinds of music, she had an extensive music collection, and frequently attended concerts with family members to share her love of a particular artist or genre.

Nancy loved the holiday season and particularly enjoyed trips to New York to see the Rockefeller Center tree and decorations. At family gatherings, she would arrive with her cookies sporting the ugliest, tackiest, glitteriest, and most flamboyant Christmas sweater she could find. That was her sense of humor.

Always up for a game of cards, one of Nancy's favorite things was sitting around the kitchen table playing Spades or May I with family and friends. She was also an avid sports fan, being a lifelong fan of the Yankees and Giants, and even the Mets and Jets at times. She also was the biggest supporter of her children's and grandchildren's athletic endeavors, be it baking in the August sun at a softball game, freezing at a football game, or being steamed at the indoor pool while attending a water polo match or swim meet.

With her kind heart and generous nature, Nancy left an indelible impact on all those she met.

Respecting her final wishes, arrangements will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. is in charge of arrangements.
