Peter D. Biggerstaff

Peter D. Biggerstaff, 67, of Birdsboro, Union Twp., PA passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 in the comfort of his home. Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Douglas W. Biggerstaff (a veteran of the British Royal Air Force) and the late, much loved Phyllis M. (Hanebury) Biggerstaff of Spring City, PA. He was the husband of Victoria L. (Frain) Biggerstaff. 

Surviving Peter, along with Victoria are his 2 beloved daughters: Lauren E. Biggerstaff and Margaret A. Biggerstaff; his 2 cherished grandchildren: Victoria (6) and Valentín (4). sister: Rosemary Angelo; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother: Karlton (Dennis) Biggerstaff.

 He was also close with his grandparents, aunts, uncles & their families in England and treasured his visits with them over the years. In addition, he traveled in Canada, one of the regions where his father was stationed and where his mother’s family was from. 

 Peter worked for many years in the pre-press printing industry after having been trained by his father at the age of 15. He last worked for Boyertown Publishing before retirement. 

Pete was a grateful transplant recipient in 2012; absolutely loved his music, hiking and was a lifelong history buff. This led him to research and travel across Pennsylvania unearthing canal artifacts & locks on the Schuylkill Navigation System. He also volunteered at the Berks County Historical Center in Reading, PA. 

 A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2:00PM at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A visitation will be from 1PM to 2:00PM prior to the services.

 In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Rd. Reading PA 19605.
