Shirley (Reigel) Groff

Shirley (Reigel) Groff, 86, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Born in West Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert A. Reigel, Sr. and the late Irene M. (Shaner) Reigel. She was the widow of Earl Stanley Groff

Shirley worked for many years as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Exeter Twp. She was a member of Pikeville Sportsmen’s Assoc. and the former Birdsboro Sportsmen's Club. She enjoyed going to car shows, thrifting, and eating out at restaurants. She loved car rides through Lancaster and the Amish Countryside. Shirley cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. in Amityville.

Surviving Shirley, is her fiancé: Harry Schaeffer of Douglassville, PA; son: Jeffrey Richards, husband of Karyl of Douglassville, PA; Sharon (Richards) Haller of Douglassville, PA; 2 sisters: Carol Young of Reading, PA and Cynthia Spudeno of Douglassville, PA; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by: her son: Michael Richards; 2 brothers: Herbert Reigel, Jr. and Harold L. Reigel.

A viewing will be held on Friday evening, August 8, 2025 at the Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508 from 7:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning, August 9, 2025 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Amityville, PA.
