Shirley A. (Hoffman) Scatchard

Shirley A. (Hoffman) Scatchard, 97, of Birdsboro PA, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick G. and Martha (Schaeffer) Hoffman. She was the widow of Sidney M. Scatchard.

Shirley spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising her family. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Credit Reliance Company in Reading, PA.

Surviving Shirley are her sons: Frederick S. Scatchard, husband of Gisele of Exeter Twp., PA, Gordon M. Scatchard, husband of Athena of Hamburg, PA, and Grant H. Scatchard, husband of Michele of Shillington, PA; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter: Shirl Ann Scatchard; son: Eric F. Scatchard; and sister: Nancy Doaty.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
