Thelma L. (Breiner) Forsythe

Thelma L. (Breiner) Forsythe, 81, of Ephrata, PA passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Bernice B. (Sterner) Breiner. She was the widow of Rev. Jonathan D. Forsythe who died on May 10, 2014.

 Thelma graduated from Louis E. Dieruff High School in 1961. She received her A.A. from Farleigh Dickinson University in the school of Dental Hygiene. She worked as a dental hygienist for many years.

 Later, Thelma enrolled in the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago Bible & Theology, Northwestern University, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. As a minister’s wife, she and her husband served many years as missionaries in South America.

 Surviving Thelma are her 3 sons: Jonathan P. Forsythe, David M. Forsythe, husband of Michelle, Matthew G. Forsythe, husband of Tessa; daughter: Elisabeth A. Heidebrecht, wife of Caleb; sister: Phyllis Curry; and 12 grandchildren. 

 She is predeceased by her daughter: Susan Beck Forsythe; and brother: Paul Breiner.

 A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Birdsboro Cemetery 1018 E. Main St. Birdsboro, PA 19508 at 2:00pm. A Memorial Service will follow at Grace Lutheran Church, 517 N. Queen St. Lancaster, PA 17603 at 4:00pm on Friday.
