Thomas B. Hunter

Thomas Benjamin Hunter, 37, passed away on Sunday, May, 11 2025. Born in New Bern, NC, he was the son of James C. Hunter II and Deborah A. (Chaney) Hunter.

He was a beloved father, son, brother, husband and friend. A sports enthusiast from a young age and loved the outdoors.

Throughout his life, he lived in NC, MS, AL, and VA. After high school graduation from Chester VA high school, Thomas Dale in 2006, he joined the U.S. Army.

He was a decorated combat veteran with many achievements throughout his career, one of the most notable being his Combat Infantry Badge. He was proud to serve and a true patriot to our country.

After his military career, he went on to attend automotive trade school and earned the title of Master Diesel Engine Technician.

The true star of Thomas’ life was his son. He was an amazing father and loved his son more than anything in the world. He poured his heart into sharing his love for sports and raising a strong and honorable son.

Thomas enjoyed playing golf, watching baseball (Go Braves!) and was a member of Moser’s Mat club; training in Jiu Jitsu and Kick Boxing.

Surviving Thomas, along with his parents, is his son: Elijah “Eli” Hunter, spouse: Victoria (Shaner) Hunter; brother: John Hunter (Sylvan); and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be private at the convenience of the family.
