Virginia "Ginny" M. (Duffy) Wright

Virginia “Ginny” M. (Duffy) Wright, formerly of Maple Glen, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Keystone Villa at Douglassville. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph (b. Capetown, South Africa) and the late Lillian Elizabeth (O’Hare) Duffy (b. Carlingford, Ireland). Virginia was the widow of Charles “Les” Lesley Wright who passed away on 12/2/2025 at the Reading Hospital.

Ginny grew up in Brooklyn, attending St. Francis Xavier Academy and Notre Dame College of Staten Island. She lived in CA, MN, MI, and settled in PA. A sharp bridge player with a sharper wit, Ginny had a wide social circle, belonged to numerous clubs, and was a founder of the Horsham Seniors Club. Ginny and Les were world travelers, visiting most of North America, Europe, and Australia. While she could often be found on the deck of a cruise ship or zip-lining in a tropical jungle, Ginny was happiest on the beach in OCNJ. Much loved by her large, boisterous family, Ginny kept in touch with everyone and organized decades of Duffy family reunions to keep our Irish heritage alive.

Virginia is survived by her children: Elise Duffy (Randall Schaffer), Debra Mahnken (Robert Renninger), John Mahnken and Dr. Stephen Mahnken (Karen Adkins); step-children, Charles L. Wright, Jr. (Patricia Hanstein) and Joanne Wright (Anthony Hoffman, Sr); sister: Ellen Smith;10 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren.

Ginny was predeceased by her brothers: Joseph, John, and William Duffy, and her first husband, Richard Mahnken, Jr.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Animal Rescue League of Berks County.
