William N. McKendry

William N. McKendry, 79, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Wynnewood, PA, he was the son of the late William and Marion (Newpher) McKendry. He was the husband of Robin (Greene) McKendry.

In early years, William was Captain of his HS Football team at Lower Merion High School. He then continued his football career on scholarship to the Univ. of Wyoming. After college, he became an American History Teacher for Bala Cynwyd Middle School in the Lower Merion School District.

William spent a lifetime coaching HS and MS sports at Lower Merion, coaching: football, lacrosse, wrestling, and softball. He was a diehard Phillies and Eagles fan. William’s greatest enjoyment in life was following his granddaughter’s softball career.

Surviving William, along with his wife, Robin, is his daughter: Kristen L. Wiedemann, wife of Conrad and his granddaughter: Elle McKendry Wiedemann.

A graveside service will be held at Immaculate Conception RC Church Cemetery, 611 Chestnut St. Birdsboro, PA 19508.
